Review Process
 



1. Original Scholarly Work

Each original scholarly work incorporated in the Academic Series will be published by the Press upon the recommendation of the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board, subject to a rigorous process of blind peer evaluation by three or more scholars, which may include the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board. The Press guarantees that each academic work will be undergo blind peer evaluation by one or more outside readers. The author(s) will be entitled to written reports of each blind evaluation. (Additional blind evaluations and/or written reports by outside scholars are available by arrangement with the Press.) If the manuscript is recommended for publication subject to revision, the author(s) will be allowed to respond to these reports, revise the manuscript, and resubmit for final evaluation and publication.


2. Revised Edition of a Previously-Published Scholarly Work

Each revised edition of a previously-published academic work incorporated in the Academic Series will be published by the Press subject to a process of blind peer evaluation by one or more scholars, which may include the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board.


3. Translation of a Previously-Published Scholarly Work

Each unrevised translation of a previously-published academic work incorporated in the Academic Series will be published by the Press upon the recommendation of the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board. Any translation that incorporates revisions (except for updated bibliographic information) will be treated as a revised edition.                                                                                                             


4. Unrevised Reprint of a Previously-Published Scholarly Work

Each unrevised reprint of a previously-published academic work (or a reprint with changes limited to the correction of typographical errors) incorporated in the Academic Series will be published upon the recommendation of the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board.



5. Literature in Translation

Each work of literature in original translation will be published by the Press upon the recommendation of the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board, subject to a process of blind peer evaluation by one or more readers, which may include the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board. If the manuscript is recommended for publication subject to revision, the author will be allowed to respond to these reports, revise the manuscript, and resubmit for final evaluation and publication. A scholarly translation may be treated as an original scholarly work in accordance with the review process described in 1. above.



6. Original Work

Each original general work will be published by the Press upon the recommendation of the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board, subject to a process of blind evaluation by one or more readers, which may include the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board. If the manuscript is recommended for publication subject to revision, the author will be allowed to respond to these reports, revise the manuscript, and resubmit for final evaluation and publication.


7. Revised Edition of a Previously-Published Work

Each revised edition of a previously-published work will be published by the Press upon the recommendation of the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board, subject to a process of blind evaluation by one or more readers, which may include the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board.

8. Unrevised Reprint of a Previously-Published Work

Each unrevised reprint of a previously-published work (or reprint with changes limited to the correction of typographical errors) will be published upon the recommendation of the Editor(s) and members of the Editorial Board.
